The shrinking of the lake threatens ecosystems, industries, and even Utahs lake-effect snow

The worst response would be to plug your ears, go Lalala I cant hear you over the captains warnings and head to the lido deck for a dip in the pool.

This may seem obvious. But the Trump administrations approach to relieving anxiety about the increasingly chaotic climate appears to be of the Lalala I cant hear you variety. It will only make our climate problem, and the anxiety it engenders, much worse

"Why Australias most prominent climate change deniers have stopped talking about the climate"

'With one year you cannot say that all the future will be lost, Ciais cautioned.

But hes worried the Earth might be on track to warm more rapidly than some scientists and world leaders expect. Many climate models dont account for an increasingly rapid breakdown of Earths natural ecosystems, accelerated by wildfires, droughts, pests and other climate-related disasters.'

Fun stuff.

Finland Backs Ambitious 90% Emissions Cut in EU Climate Drive

Finland endorses a European Union target to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2040, amidst ongoing debates and negotiations across EU member states. The European Commission's delayed proposal faces mixed reactions, with some countries expressing concerns about the economic impact and proposing international carbon credits as a flexibility measure

In light of society's on-going mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, much focus has been placed on the impact global insurers have - and what measures are being undertaken to reduce them.

Carolyn Kousky, Environmental Defense Fund, and Joseph W. Lockwood, Princeton University, explore the different levers global insurers could use to help reduce emissions in both their operations and those of their supply chains in this article:

Their predictions just a few decades ago have turned out to be exactly right. Should not that cause us to listen more carefully to what theyre warning us will happen if we do not sharply and quickly reduce the emissions from burning fossil fuels
