New Mexico weighs new heat safety rules to shield workers as temperatures soar

New Mexico officials are considering statewide heat protections for workers after a surge in complaints and hospital visits linked to rising temperatures, but industries and Republicans argue the plan goes too far

Floating PV systems could increase the climate resilience of lakes

Germanys Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (Fraunhofer ISE) has conducted new research on the impact of floating PV and water temperature and evaporation

Climate camps are a space for building a vision for a better future together. We learn, train and discuss how a just world could look like, and how we can fight for it - and we want you to contribute.

This year's camp will be filled with amazing workshops, music, skill shares, talks and everything else. If you can help us make that happen, this call is for you!

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 15 JUNE 2025

This increased water vapour in the air means two things: more evaporation from the seas and soils, leading to more intense droughts and dry spells and more intense rainfall (the atmosphere has more fuelwater vapourto power rainstorms). This is now the pattern globally, entirely in-keeping with long-term climate change predictions

"Climate change is causing the glaciers - frozen rivers of ice - to melt faster and faster, and the permafrost, often described as the glue that holds the high mountains together, is also thawing. ... Many climate scientists suggest that target has already been missed, meaning the glacier thaw will continue to accelerate, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides, and threatening more communities like Blatten."
