Arts Council Englands (ACE) Environmental Responsibility team is keen to understand the impact of the UKs recent heatwaves (May-July) on organisations in the cultural sector. In order to do this, they have launched a rapid online survey.

Things I remember as a kid/teen that no are no longer true:
- plenty of trees and gardens in the middle of the cities
- bees, tons of bees feasting in flowers everywhere in spring
- large pretty moths, I rarely see large moths nowadays
- swallows nesting in every building in the spring, my mother's house building would have dozens of nests
- very large "clouds" of swallows migrating
- praying mantis just chilling on the walls of buildings
- sparrows: this one is recent but I rarely see sparrows anymore, they used to be so funny bathing in puddles after a rain
- almost no centipedes and millipedes, especially the later, they used to be common and I haven't seen one in probably 10+ years
- worms wiggling in the soil after a rain
